This week, as part of British Science Week, the Reception children have been curious about conservation. They have been learning about conservation and how to look after our Earth and talking about why this is important. They had a visit from Mrs Recycle who helped us to sort our household rubbish and understand the importance of recycling e.g. plastics, cardboard, paper. They talked about how our actions can impact habitats and asked questions e.g. If we dropped litter what might happen? Why should turn the tap off? This linked in with our current topic as we have discussed what might happen if we don't look after our woodlands and forests.

What an exciting time we have had this week learning about different types of transport! One of the highlights was a visit from the local police who helped us to understand the features of a police car, including the lights and the siren, and reminded us how to cross a road safely. We had our fingerprint taken and some of us even tried on a police helmet and tried using the walkie talkie!
Earlier in the week we had a learning experience from Little City. It was so exciting to dress up in different clothes and vehicles and use our imagination in role as different people who help us.
