It has been another busy week preparing for the opening of Roundswell Community Primary Academy.
This week we have been finalising the IT equipment to support both children and staff. New interactive screens will support class and group teaching, although we will still be using whiteboards as well. The children will be using mobile ipad type devices in the classroom as part of their education. There has to be a balance between IT and learning through other means such as the outdoors. The new wifi and IT infrastructure will be part of a larger Trust wide IT system which will support the other schools in the Tarka Learning Partnership over time. Roundswell will be the first school to receive the technology to support a child from primary to secondary as they move to the Park Community School.
As you know next week begins the erection of the building as the structure arrives and is assembled over the next few weeks. We are all looking forward to seeing the building come out of the ground. We hope to have photographs available in a few weeks.
I will contact you in two weeks as schools take a break for half term. In the mean time I hope you and your family enjoy a little winter sun if you are out and about. Let's hope so.
Kind regards,
Andy Cotton
